I’m Mounika, founder of Mouri.

This brand didn’t start as a big plan — it came from something I was personally struggling with.

No matter where I shopped — online or in stores — I could never find clothes that felt right for office, outings, or even everyday wear. Dresses were either too long, too short, not modest enough, or just not practical.

Sometimes there was no lining, the fabric felt cheap, necklines were too deep, or armholes too loose.

And so often, I ended up buying something just because I loved the design — only to get it altered later to actually feel comfortable wearing it.

I’ve always loved modern silhouettes, but I didn’t want to compromise on comfort or modesty.

So I thought — why not create what I’ve been looking for?

Mouri started in 2022, right from my living room — with my mom’s sewing machine and one part-time tailor.

I honestly didn’t know if anyone would even purchase from me.

But slowly, orders started coming in.

We began with sizes S to 2XL — what most brands offer — but soon realised many women were still left out.

So we evolved into a size-inclusive brand, now serving women up to 8XL.

As more people started trusting us, word of mouth brought in friends, family, and repeat customers.

That’s when I knew this was something real — and I finally quit my IT job to do this full-time.

Coming from a middle-class background, with a stable, high-paying software job, this wasn’t an easy decision.

I felt guilty walking away from years of hard work.

But that journey gave me confidence — that I can learn anything from scratch.

Today, what started in a small living room has grown into a team of 20+ people working together under one roof every day.

At Mouri, we focus on creating modest, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed clothing that actually works for real women.

We prioritise length customisation (especially for petite and tall women), deep functional pockets, and designs that evolve with your body — with extra stitch margins for flexibility.

We’ve also introduced maternity-friendly options with nursing zips to support women through different stages of life.

We create our collections in small, limited batches — so every piece gets the attention it deserves.

Nothing is rushed.

Everything is designed with care, intention, and thought.

Our goal is simple — to create pieces you’ll keep coming back to, again and again.

Today, we offer both ready-to-ship styles and made-to-order pieces.

But honestly, what makes Mouri what it is today… is you.

Even now, I personally spend time every day replying to customer messages — because staying connected to what women truly need matters to me.

And somewhere along the way, many of our customers became more than just customers… they became friends.

We’re not perfect, and we’ve never tried to be.

Every improvement we’ve made has come from your feedback.

Mouri is constantly evolving — and always will.

We are based out of Bangalore, building each piece with care and a lot of heart.
